Uncle Larry Comes Through

Here’s his blog post on the library domain incident.

He says, “[L]ibrary officials should use the experience to inform the public about domain names – how to get them, their cost and re-registration – and the people who might poach them. They now have firsthand knowledge.”

Good point. Librarians are great teachers.

It’s All About Being Creative

My Uncle Larry (Editorial writer and Blogger over at the Asbury Park Press) drew my attention to a student creative writing and cartooning contest he helped judge. He says:

“[i]t’s comforting to realize there are no losers, just selecting the cream of the cream.”

Read more about it here and take a look at the video here.

No Sympathy For Internet Addict

Great stuff from Uncle Larry:

"In the you-can’t-make-this-up category of news, there’s the guy from upstate New York who is suing IBM for $5 million for improperly firing him for visiting an adult chat room on the Internet at work. You see, he’s a long-time sex addict and, more recently, an Internet addict. He visits chat rooms as treatment for the traumatic stress syndrome he developed after seeing an Army buddy killed during his Vietnam service in 1969. Oh, spare us, pleeez!"
