Clinton: Presidential library teaches that action brings change

AP – “Former President Bill Clinton said today he intended for his presidential library to teach the lesson that taking action can change the world — a lesson he said is important as the nation debates issues like health care reform and global warming. “I wanted people to come to this library and leave and … I wanted them to believe that decisions have consequences in real people’s lives, and therefore that we should all care about the political system,” Clinton said at a luncheon celebrating the fifth anniversary of the library’s opening.”

Collection of FDR papers soon to become public

AP – “The last great archives of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s presidency may soon be available to researchers and the public – 14 boxes of handwritten notes, gifts and correspondence, including a letter from Italian dictator Benito Mussolini congratulating him on his 1933 inauguration. The House on Monday approved a bill to clear the way for the memorabilia to be donated to Roosevelt’s presidential library and museum in Hyde Park, N.Y.”

Deal to end land fight between SMU, ex-condo owners falls apart
