Police: 400 ‘rowdy’ students mob URI library

Boston.com – “A University of Rhode Island library became a little too popular over the weekend — and not just among study groups cramming for final exams.

Campus police say they had to escort about 400 “rowdy students” out of URI’s Robert L. Carothers Library and Learning Commons on Sunday night. Police say they believe the students were part of a gathering organized through social media.”

Text Messaging Gone Wild at U. of Tennessee at Chattanooga

That’s because text-messaging technology is very efficient at mobilizing large groups of people quickly. Unfortunately, that efficiency can have a dark side, as the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga discovered last night.”
