Cengage Learning and Ivy Tech Corporate College Partner to Deliver Online Courses

Major global publishers to add new content to WorldCat

“OCLC has signed new agreements with leading publishers around the world to add more books, e-books, journals, audiovisual materials and databases to WorldCat, the most comprehensive online database of resources available through libraries worldwide. This new content will be integrated into library management workflows and will be discoverable by users through a variety of OCLC services, such as WorldCat Local and WorldCat.org.” (via OCLC)

Elsevier and O’Reilly Media Sign New Ebook Distribution Deal

“Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, and technology publisher O’Reilly Media today announced that O’Reilly will distribute many of Elsevier’s academic, research-focused ebooks. This expands the depth of ebooks available from O’Reilly in areas such as computer security and networking, and includes leading imprints such as Morgan Kaufmann, Syngress, Academic Press, Butterworth-Heinemann, Newnes and Elsevier with more than 1,200 individual titles.” (via Elsevier)

Cengage Learning Launches Partnership with the Smithsonian Institution to Bring Smithsonian Treasures into the Library and Academic Space

“Gale, part of Cengage Learning and a leading publisher of research and reference resources for libraries, schools and businesses, and the Smithsonian Institution today announced a licensing agreement to distribute Smithsonian assets into the library and academic space. “We’re elated to be working with the Smithsonian Institution,” said Frank Menchaca, executive vice president, research solutions for Cengage Learning. “This agreement puts us closer to our goal of becoming the largest humanities research experience for the academic library.
