The library weblog dedicated to resources for keeping current and professional development

RSSFeeds.com

July 5th, 2004

RSSfeeds.com is a RSS directory containing links to RSS feeds. We do not collect the data in the feeds, like some other sites, but we specialize in categorizing the feeds in a directory that is based on Netscape’s DMOZ Open directory.” (link via Michael Fagan’s Bookmarks)

I knew right away by looking at the directory that is was using the ODP, which is an excellent way to organize and collect feeds. There is a basic search interface available (I’ll pray for an advanced one in future releases), which is pretty useful. A search for ‘library’ brings back 144 hits. In addition, for each result there is an information page, which includes a screenshot, the RSS feed URL, 4 validator resources, the directory path, and the ability to add feeds to your aggie of choice. There is also a lengthy list of aggregators.

I have mentioned XMLHub’s Custom ODP Feed generator in the past, but should be mentioned in this post as well. If you want to be notified whenever a category of the ODP has been updated, this is a wonderful tool to use. It’s great for competitive intelligence.

This resource is definitely going to be added to my fall workshops/presentations on RSS.

Tara also has a review of the resource.
