At the end of an enjoyable essay about weblogs, Brian Lamb writes:
"But like most pleasures, weblogs are difficult to explain without personal experience."
Not only that, but those that bash weblogs without trying them out personally are only kidding themselves. I believe in the "don't knock it until you try it" approach to technology.
On a similar note, I once attended a conference in which the speaker was a noted "blogging expert", but after an inquiry, I found out that this person had never maintained, no evert started, a weblog. Thus, I shrugged my shoulders, turned to my colleague, and blurted out my patented, HUH? (link via Carving Code)
