Amazon/Google Visual Search

Combine Google API and Amazon API and what do you get? anacubis

"anacubis has integrated the Amazon and Google search APIs with the anacubis™ Viewer to deliver an innovative and powerful new way to browse the extensive catalogue of books, CD, DVDs and videos for sale at Amazon.com - and then explore related information amongst Google's 3 billion plus web documents."

"Right-clicking an item reveals a wealth of additional information: links to other titles by the same author/artist, customer reviews, an option to add actors and directors to the chart and then look for other films they starred in/directed and additional information provided by Amazon, such as track listings."

"The demonstration can be accessed free of charge and any items purchased from Amazon.com through the interface will earn a small commission that will be donated in full to charity."(via Google Blogoscoped)

This resource is in beta, so the results aren't working that well, yet. I'd check back when they work on it more. I also wonder if library vendors should get on board releasing an API of their searches/databases to integrate into this type of meta-search...
