In my other life, I am a search engine optomization (SEO) consultant for a large non-profit company. I write monthly reports on how their brand name is doing in 13 engines and make suggestions on how to increase their many web sites in these engines.
I also help them keep up with the field of SEO and that entails reading a lot fo articles on the subject as well as dredging through the many SEO forums out there. I was thrilled today to learn about Marketing Forum Watch, a web based aggregation tool which brings in all (well, maybe not all) of the discussions from these forums into one space. Its updated every 5 minutes and is customizable. What a great idea.
Of course, my mind wandered to the library field and thought that this would a great idea for the many (way too many IMO) online discussion forums available for librarians. Bring in all of these discussions into one web aggregator, updated it every five minutes, and make it customizable. We did it for library blogs, so why not do it for library discussion lists...not that I would subscribe (I just rid myself of mostly all library mailing lists), but others might want to..
Alright, who's gonna tackle this one?
