Just because I am not going to read Harry Potter doesn't mean that I shouldn't link to stuff about the guy.
Webmasterworld has a discussion on alternatives to the wizard. How about a Stephen King novel? I used to love those when I was young (read my first one in 6th grade - scared the living heck out of me - it was awesome).
