Blake links to this article in information overload/techno stress.
I read somewhere (goodness knows where) that the term "information overload" is a myth, meaning that it has yet to be defined. Sure, there is a ODP section dedicated to it and you get over 200,000 hits when you do a search on Google, but what exactly is it? I don't think it really exists, for one existential reason. We can choose to rid ourselves of it. In other words, information overload is a subjective term made up by those who think they are getting too much information, when in essence, they are doing it to themselves. I just don't believe in it.
Now, techno-stress is something completely different...
