After hours of working with Jessamyn on fixing her RSS feed (it had no titles, and thus didn't work in every reader), I remembered an old friend in Voidstar, a neat way to RSSify your blog.
So, I was pleased that it finally worked for her site, one of the best in the biz. Her new RSS feed is here, and now works in the Library RSS portal that I am sure some of you had heard about already (it will debut in a few weeks).
I also had a chance to talk with Jessamyn on the phone. A great gal! I can't wait to meet her at MIT at the end of April. It is always weird talking with someone who you have admired from an online-distance. That's why I blogging is so great.
Posted by Steven at March 1, 2003 08:47 PMWhile visiting BPL, try asking for legitimate public background information about Boston Public Library and observe the shortcomings of our reference desks, the denial of service. Ideally, you'll find out that the reference desks have the information available. But that's unlikely given BPL's misunderstanding of the principles of intellectual freedom.

Anyway, Steven, you've convinced me that I need an RSS feed. I read your article and downloaded Newz Crawler. I'm normally fairly tech-savvy, but I'm getting an error trying to configure "My Blogs." The help section tells me to choose "tools" and then "Blog Client," but I don't have the b.c. option listed. Care to help another librarian? I'd really appreciate it.
