Just as the launch of Personalized Search improved search results based on your search history, these changes use your Reader Trends to improve your reading experience.”

August 13th, 2009Official Google Reader Blog – “Since our last big launch, we’ve been thinking about ways to help our users better share, discover, and consume content in Reader. Today, I’m happy to announce several new features that we hope will further improve the way you use Reader.”
As always GR continues to impress.

I’m a long time user of bloglines, but
October 9th, 2008Steve Matthews – “I’m a long time user of bloglines, but my patience is almost done.”
Yup. Bloglines is basically kaput. I looked at my blog in there and it hadn’t been updated in months (and I’m the 150th top blog).
Steve, come over to the dark side…

Google on Managing your shared items
December 27th, 2007They’ve made some changes. Hopefully, this will satisfy everyone, but probably not.
More on Shared Items
December 26th, 2007Erick Schonfeld – “To be clear, Google Reader is not broadcasting every feed you subscribe to out to your entire contact list. The default is to keep everything private until you deliberately click the “share†button. But once you do that, you lose control over who gets to see what. The appeal of this approach [...]
More on Shared Items
December 25th, 2007Felipe Hoffa thinks that sharing items aspect of Google Reader invades his privacy.
I tend to disagree. When I share content, I know that it’s going to any who wants to read it. That’s what “Shared Items” means. Don’t want to read it, then don’t read it.
Future of RSS Readers
December 16th, 2007Louis Gray – “Reading one’s RSS feeds today is a journey of isolation.”
More on Shared Items
December 16th, 2007Google just merged (kinda) Google Talk and Google Reader. Now I can read what my Google Talk friends are sharing. So far, three friends are sharing items. How many of you are seeing my shared items? I’m curious.
New From Bloglines
November 8th, 2007Wow. Two new features in as many days? Will Bloglines be able to keep up with Google Reader? I doubt it. Google has an infinite amount of money. Bloglines? Not as much.
Google Reader makes me feel smarter. Bloglines never did that (and I won’t find out if it does [...]
Was It Something I said?
October 31st, 2007I just lost half of my Google Reader subscribers.
Changes to Google Reader
October 25th, 2007When I used to get posts from shared items feeds that I subscribed to, Google Reader didn’t indicate that it was indeed from a shared reader feed. Now it does. I think this is new and I like it.
Subscribers Now Up To 2,674
October 15th, 2007Google must be making some changes.
Update: From the Google Reader Blog – “These numbers include subscribers across all Google services, including Reader, iGoogle, and Orkut. You can see them in Reader’s feed search results (pictured below) and the Google Webmaster Tools. Additionally, our crawler reports them to the publisher each time we [...]
Check Your Subscribers on Google Reader
October 14th, 2007(via)
These numbers are way below the stats that I came up with last time. Oh well. Numbers are just numbers.
Honey, Can I Get This. Please?
September 25th, 2007Josh Lowensohn – “Picnik is launching a new premium subscription service tomorrow morning. $24.95 gets you a year of access to a slew of advanced effects and fonts.”
Picnik is the king of online photo editors. Another tool I would pay for to gain access to advanced features (if ever available)? Google Reader, of [...]
More on Human Filters
September 12th, 2007EirePreneur – “Anyone who wants to put the RSS genie back in the bottle and rob the web of human filters should go work with the dead tree press.”
Google. Why Did You Do This?
September 5th, 2007As if I needed a reminder. Ack! It’s been a crazy week so far. Not much RSS reading for me in the past 24 hours.
New Bloglines
August 27th, 2007Rats. I actually have to log in and check out the new Bloglines (Must. Remember. Password.) Can RSS reading get better, easier, and quicker than Google Reader? Doubtful, but there needs to be competitors in the market.
Share Your Shared Items
August 17th, 2007I’m looking for some good Google Reader shared items feeds. If you use this feature in Google Reader and think that I should subscribe to it, send me a note at stevenmcohen [at] gmail [dot] com.
BTW, mine is here.
Another Reason to Switch to Google Reader
August 17th, 2007Matt Mullenweg – “it feels better to be on a platform that whether real or perceived feels like it has real momentum.”
Why No “Blog This”?
July 16th, 2007Denise Howell asks: “Facebook finally has me using an aggregator after six years of finding them basically useless. It’s Google Reader. So now I have my first grumble: as part of the Google OS/empire, why doesn’t Reader have “Blog This” functionality with Blogger?”
I’m sure something can be hacked, but in the meantime, there’s the [...]
Google Reader Vs MyAOL Favorites
July 10th, 2007Mashable puts the two head to head and Google Reader wins by a landslide. No surprise there and I haven’t even tried MyAOL. That’s how good Google Reader is.
