The Morgan Whips Through Four Centuries of Spanish Drawing

“Although it’s well-stocked with French, Dutch and Italian drawings, the Morgan Library & Museum does not have many from Spain, in part because some of the great Spanish painters, Velázquez included, worked out their ideas directly on canvas. So while the Morgan mounted a 100-piece exhibition last fall on the topic of Venetian drawings from the 18th century, its first-ever show of Spanish drawings whips through four centuries in just 25 objects.” (via NYTimes.com)
