Salvaged books return to library’s Lancaster Collection

Lancaster Online – :Heather Sharpe paged through a stack of books and marveled at the flat pages and undamaged bindings. “They’re a little wrinkly, some of them,” she said. “You can tell that they were wet. But really, this is amazing.” Sharpe is community relations coordinator for Lancaster Public Library where, on May 17, a furious downpour overwhelmed a rooftop drain and funneled water through the second-floor Teen Reading Room and down into the Gerald Lestz Reading Room below.
