‘Harry Potter’ money machine to live on

But metro Phoenix businesses expect to profit from the multibillion-dollar Potter merchandising machine far beyond the release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.” The ubiquitous Potter novels by J.K. Rowling have earned $1.17 billion for Scholastic, the books’ U.S. publisher, and spawned the Warner Bros.’ film franchise, which has already grossed $6.4 billion worldwide, according to Scholastic and Box Office Mojo.”
