NY Daily News – “City libraries face the most drastic cuts in their 115-year history if Mayor Bloomberg’s budget is approved by the City Council next week. City officials are locked in negotiations over the administration’s proposal to slash $90 million from the libraries, as well as the proposed layoffs of thousands of teachers and the closing of firehouses, and senior and daycare centers.”
