Arizona Republic – “A new Maricopa County library and nature center opens at the base of the 4,000-foot White Tank Mountains today. The $9 million facility isn’t like most libraries. It includes "creature" exhibits with three varieties of hissing rattlesnakes, a giant rooftop solar-panel array and an outdoor amphitheatre Officials said the building is designed to serve both library patrons and park visitors. Residents can utilize the modern library, get tips on hiking trails or attend a lecture on local wildlife all in one stop.”
