Group says city libraries in need of repair

The Providence Journal – “The roofs of both the Smith Hill and Wanskuck libraries are leaking. Water is entering the basement at the Olneyville library and causing mold and other air-quality issues. And this past summer, both the Knight Memorial Library, in the city’s Elmwood neighborhood, and the Smith Hill library had to close for more than 30 days because they lacked air conditioning as temperatures soared. Building problems continue to plague many of the city’s neighborhood libraries, and the Providence Community Library, the nonprofit organization that operates them, says repairs are needed to ensure that all the libraries remain open.”

It’s sad how little people regard libraries now, some of my best times have been sitting in a library with stacks of books :) Hope they can get these fixed
