Queens library system gets second wind, rechecks need for layoffs

Daily News – “The Queens Library system dodged a major budget bullet this week, but many of its pink-slipped employees are still awaiting news about their fate. The library, threatened with drastic cuts that would have shuttered some branches and slashed hours at others, received a $17.6million restoration under the budget deal brokered between Mayor Bloomberg and the City Council.”
