Reading? Aren’t books good for anything else?

Jacket Copy – “Books are pretty useless when it comes to multi-tasking. They’re good for one thing — reading — and not much else. In the past, you might be able to stick them on a shelf and take them down again … but still, nothing to do with them but read.”

REALLY? Is this all you’ve ever done with a book? They’re great for hurling at someone in fits of anger or annoyance–less breakable than dishes. I’ve squashed bugs with them. Used them as doorstops. Used them as kindling and to get a really big fire going. YES, I have burned an occasional book and NO, I’m not a Nazi. The list of uses is endless!

They make great plant stands. If you have enough shelved on (the inside of) an outside wall they insulate your house. Prop projectors to the right height and angle. Fortunately I’m book affluent because I love ‘em! There is nothing better for decorating a home or office than books.
