Rory Litwin on Israel
January 16th, 2009As usual, Rory lets it all out
I have been refraining about talking about the war here and probably won’t. I talk about this stuff with my wife and don’t need to use this blog as my pulpit anymore. I’m having fun reading and posting articles, etc.
Thanks for your continued reading of LS.

I’ve never read your blog, Aaron. I’m not sure what you’re saying. It sounds like you’re linking to me in order to say that you don’t want to discuss what I’m discussing. That seems like an odd thing to do. Why not just ignore it? And I’m not sure what the “as usual” comment means. I haven’t talked about Israel in years, and tend to stick to library topics more than most library bloggers. So what do you mean “as usual?” (My post is more like things I used to put in the pre-blog Library Juice, circe 1999.) And am I to take it that there is something wrong with talking publicly about antisemitism and the things that underly people statements and opinions? I wish more people would do that, and not leave their discussions of real issues to private spaces. So I’m really not sure what you’re saying or why you’re linking to my post, if you don’t want to talk about the war here.

… And I don’t think you’ve linked to a Library Juice post in years, and I don’t think you’ve ever linked to a post that I would say is typical of what I write. You seem to be mainly interested in Library Juice as a potential source of controversy (which would explain why I haven’t heard from you in so long).
So that I’m “letting it all out” “as usual” and you’re “refraining,” seems to be the entire point of your post. I don’t understand your motivation for that, and I think it’s not based on the reality of what I’ve done over the years.
