Kennewick students are no longer banned from visiting library during lunch

September 6th, 2008

The Wenatchee World Online – “Kennewick High School students can once again use the library across the street from their school during lunch.  Mid-Columbia Library System officials this week reversed their policy banning students from the Keewaydin Park branch during lunchtime.”

Thank goodness! Glad you shared this… I read the original story a ways back, but didn’t catch the follow-up.

What a ridiculous idea in the first place. Why shouldn’t the school deal with it’s own truancy issues instead of asking the library to police for them?

Besides, I’d rather see kids cutting classes and GOING TO THE LIBRARY, as opposed to getting into real trouble.
