Sedona Library puts on its parent hat

Sedona.biz – “[A]ny student who is not using the Library for its intended purpose, any student who is using the Library as a hangout location will be told that they must leave the property. That means all the way down to the end of White Bear Road and Dry Creek Road.

Acceptable uses of the Library are reading, doing homework, using the computers, and attending programs when offered. Using the Library as a hangout is not an acceptable use. Please be informed that your child will be asked to leave the Library property and what once was considered a safe place to leave them after school will no longer be available.”

Uh oh! The Twopointoher’s probably won’t like this. Even I don’t. Not a positive piece at all.

As usual, there is more to the story. The library is located next door to a charter school and has bent over backwards to accomodate the students, but after several incidents of vandalism including the most recent attempt to break into the library through the book drop, the Director decided enough was enough.
