More on Overdue Fines
January 5th, 2008Winfield Courier - “The Arkansas City Public Library is celebrating its 100th year of operation, but you’re the one getting a gift. Starting Jan. 1, the library is getting rid overdue fines. Items checked out from the library will no longer accrue overdue fines, and all past overdue fines will be forgiven.”

Here at UT-Chattanooga, we got rid of library fines this past semester. It’s a hit with the students, who think it’s a pretty cool thing for the library to do. They still have to bring them back, of course, or pay for them if lost, but it was a nice feel-good marketing tactic.
