@Dave: Sorry, but comments are really very hidden in your blog of someone visits http://www.scripting.com/ instead of http://scripting.wordpress.com/. And you corrupt the principle of permalinks by archiving your stories at http://www.scripting.com/stories/ instead of referring to the archive at http://scripting.wordpress.com/.

Wow. I've never been called a hit-and-run commenter before, especially within the liblog community, especially by someone who--let's see--isn't normally part of that community.

The comment capability is so carefully designed that these tired old eyes could not find it, even when I looked three times.

Librarians do pro bono work all the time, even though their day jobs don't usually pay as well as, say, lawyers. A pretty big chunk of high-profile web folks disdains the very idea of taxonomy for web content, which certainly discourages any librarian effort in that direction.

My blog does accept comments. But you have to look carefully. It's designed that way to make it hard for hit-and-run type comment, like the one right above me. :-)

Anyway I mean that we don't have librarians in the way the NYT has them. We can't ask you to do jobs for us, like design a taxonomy. You have responsibilities, like feeding a family, that get in the way.

And of course, like any good A-list Pioneer Blogger, Winer's blog doesn't accept comments, so there's no way for 800+ libloggers to tell him he's wrong.
