The new service is more-or-less a direct competitor to parts of Lulu–and since neither one requires exclusivity, it’s possible to use both. I plan to try that out.
Clear up front: CreateSpace’s books won’t be quite as attractive to traditional book-lovers (bright white rather than cream-book paper), and CreateSpace’s pricing is a little less favorable.
Also clear up front: the free ISBN and entry into Amazon’s system are distinct advantages. I’ll blog about it after I get a book up in both systems. (Oh: “parts of”=CreateSpace doesn’t do hardbound and only does very short full-color, max. 60 pages. Also, CreateSpace doesn’t do calendars, for what that’s worth.)
