Are Toolbars Your Friend?

You don’t think toolbars are somewhat passe as a technology tool? I realize that toolbars may be an interesting and visible branding tool for a library, but as a user, I’ve just about come to the conclusion that the Yahoo toolbar (which I’ve used for an extended period) is just taking up valuable real estate on screen.
