June 25th, 2007

Dave Winer mentioned that a search for Twittergram this afternoon brings up 406 hits. Library Stuff has the top two spots. Dave’s posts are way down there.

  1. Bob Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0 Says:

Yes, Google has been broken for a long time. Combine that with advertisers gaming the system, and you have some terrible search results.

    Yahoo isn’t much better.

Not sure what the answer is. They are going to have to come up with some way of filtering out the commercial sites that just aren’t relevant.

  2. Kathryn Greenhill AUSTRALIA Windows XP Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.4 Says:

One of my tech-savvy students told me that if you are logged into any google service (like gmail) at the same time as you do a google search, the results that display at the top of a search are sites you commonly access.

Still neeed to fiddle about to check whether he is right.

Maybe google isn’t being your mad auntie in the attic, but it your creepy uncle standing to close at your sister’s birthday party.
