FIOS Rawks

May 29th, 2007

BusinessWeek has a piece on Verizon FIOS, which delivers speed very close to a T3. I had it installed a few months back and I’m in heaven. Web pages don’t load, they just appear. Movies up to 900 kbs stream without buffering. Hallie plays all of her games without any bandwidth issues, which we used to get with DSL. Finally, the Cohen family is ahead of the curve…for now.

My neighborhood will be getting FIOS in 2-3 years… maybe. I hear that the service is absolutely money… especially the TV side.

  2. Jennifer UNITED STATES Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0 Says:

I have Verizon FiOS at home and have been in heaven too. Many more tv channels than the cable service, fast internet without slowdowns, able to download patches and drivers without bogging down. The wireless is even faster - I can actually use my laptop to upload pictures and movies to my personal web site without having to hook up to the wired network.

Oh, and it makes checking things at work from home a breeze. Our portal loads MUCH quicker now.
