Wikipedia Search on Exalead

May 4th, 2007

Gary Price introduced me to Exalead a while back as the only engine that will do proximity searches. I showed it off last week during a presentation and the audience seemed to like it. Exalead has saved my butt a few times.

I learn from Google Blogoscoped that Exalead now has a Wikipedia-specific search. Thus, proximity searching in Wikipedia…Yummy.

I tried Exalead and would be willing to test it, in place of google, for a week or so. To see if the relationship has any long-term potential. It has “advanced search” function and foreign language capability. The latter is important in my current job. Thanks for the heads up on a new-to-me search engine.
