On the Web, attention spans shrink, the need for value rises

“I was reminded of this after coming back from a near three-week holiday out of the country and off the grid. Folks were atwitter about Twitter.com, a site that hadn’t hit the radar before I left, and one that was fading from the screen by the time I’d returned.”
Twitter had faded? Really? I’m not sure about that. Twitter seems to be as popular as ever. Many of my “friends” have left but then have come back to Twitterville, as if they missed or needed it.
Although we agree on one thing. Twitter has no value. It’s just freaking fun. Then again, maybe that’s the value…

A world without Twitter? Just doesn’t seem right.
P.S. My next project after LibSite.org will be “SneezeStakes” where online users bet on which hay-fever suffer will sneeze next.
