We all want peace. But what folks need to remember is that in many places in the world, if a photo like this would be taken and shown publicly, the man in the photo would be tortured and then beheaded, and the three women would be gang raped and stoned to death. It is difficult if not impossible to have peace with people whose sole desire in life is to wipe you off the earth.
Remember that on 9/11/01, most in the Palestinian territories, in Iraq, and in Iran were dancing in the streets because innocent men, women and children were killed. When the rare American solider acts inappropriately, we hold congressional investigations and court martials. When an American teenager is blown up at an Israeli coffee shop, the homicide bomber’s family is compensated with money and accolades.
Would you be holding the Peace sign if you had lost a son or daughter to a terrorist act?
