Bringo

I’m going to have to try Bringo the next time I call West or Lexis and get lost in a phone tree and want to talk to a human. Just give them your number and they will navigate the tree for you and give you a call back when they have a human on the line.

Awesome!! (via)

Ch Ch Ch Ch Ch Changes

You may notice some changes on LS over the next few days. After years of being a hardcore Blogger user , we will be switiching over to WordPress. Everything is implemented, and the DNS stuff is making the rounds on the Internets, so if you don’t see it yet, be patient.

Also, no need to subscribe to a new feed URL as the techie folks at ITI were able to do a server side redirect of the new feed to the one that you subcribe to.

Moving over to WordPress also means that it will be alot easier to put ads at the end of every blog post, which we have been trying to implement over the past year, but dealing with Blogger was a horror.

Last, I will finally be able to use the OPML Editor to post to LS, which I’ve wanted to do for a long time as well. It has a slick WordPress plug-in. (Thanks Dave)

Anywho, welcome to the new Library Stuff. Enjoy!

Page2RSS

I’m back in Keeping Current mode these days, wanting to come up with some case studies on a "How-To-Do-It-Good" approach. One tool that I have been playing with is Page2RSS, which basically takes any static URL and creates a feed with any new changes in that page. A great idea, theoretically. The one problem it has is that I can’t rule out specific parts of a page, like the date, which changes daily on most sites (usually via javascript). Take a look at this page. See what I mean? If only Page2RSS took a "page" from Web Site Watcher (the king of keeping current tools), I’d be thrilled. Page2RSS is really close to being an amazing tool. I hope they continue to advance it.
