More Professional Changes
November 5th, 2006I’ve just announced on the PLA Blog that I’m resigning as co-manager. This was a very hard decision, but one that was necessary as my job is taking up a good chunk of time and I need whatever free time I have for other stuff. I’m so proud of what we accomplished for PLA.
In addition, I’ve notified my editor for Public Libraries magazine that I will no longer be able to write/edit the Internet Spotlight column anymore. I’ve had that gig since 2001 and will miss it terribly. But again, priorities…
What WILL I be doing, besides my “day” job?
1) Well, there is the book.
2) Library Stuff will continue and (hopefully) flourish.
3) I’m loving my monthly column for Information Today.
4) I’m still doing some speaking engagements, but they will be few and far between. I’ll be at CIL and IL for the unforseeable future and have a few local gigs lined up.
For now though, I need to prioritize and I had to give more stuff up. I just couldn’t justify the time needed for PLA work anymore.
