I read this in the New York Law Journal this morning:

“Mr. White said the plaintiffs missed the deadline for filing opposition papers because it relied on an erroneous report on the e-law Web site that said the Nassau County Supreme Court would be closed on Jan. 3.”

Ouch! Just another reason to not rely on one source. I’ve used E-law and it’s very useful, but I always try to find back-up, even for court closures. The plaintiff should have also checked the court web site. Or, called the court. The phone is a wonderful tool.
