Castr
July 11th, 2006I received an e-mail from Aaron J. Bedra of the Westerville Public Library (OH) this afternoon, asking me to check out a tool they are working on called castr.
They are recording video of library programs and placing them in a feed. There are currently 3 “casts” in there now and you can watch them directly from the browser (They’re in Quicktime).
This is a very neat service and I hope that tools like this become more prevalent from libraries. This is the first time I’ve seen video in feeds from a library (not including You Tube, I guess). Also, take a look at their homepage, where the videos are front and center.
This stuff gets me so giddy. Lessons for marketing our online tools folks. Right there. Perfecto. If you want me to show off the neat things that you are working on, send me a note [stevenmcohen at gmail.com].
