RSS Rip Offs
July 6th, 2006John Tropea is mad that someone is ripping off his feed and publishing it elsewhere:
“Not only is it wrong, but they may also make money off my content from the ads on their site…I guess this would only be a concern if it was a well known highly trafficked blog, in this case action would be taken (even if they did link back to my post…well I’d have to change my license conditions).”
I’ve seen many rip-offs of my feed. We have a pretty decent policy in place:
“Readers of this blog are free to use the contents of this blog in any way whatsoever, as long as the use is non-commercial in nature and the user acknowledges “Library Stuff blog, by Steven M. Cohen, published by Information Today, Inc.”
So, go ahead and use my feed, just make the proper attribution and don’t make any money from it (Google ads, etc)
