Sheraton Hotels Goes 2.0

July 3rd, 2006

From Hotel News Resource comes word that Sheraton Hotels has placed the power of social software into their site. Users can write about their travels and post pictures.

Sheraton Goes 2.0

From the release:

“Designed as a global community that consumers can belong to, the new site invites visitors to share stories, tips and photos about their best travel finds, destination favorites and passion for travel. The new sheraton.com is part of the brand’s promise to move beyond merely transacting with customers to instead providing meaningful experiences to support the Sheraton brand’s positioning around warm, comforting, connections.”

Beyond just transations. Something for libraries to think about, eh? Also of importance to librarians, users can post about their travels even if they did not stay at the Sheraton. Are the social aspects of your services for “residents only”?
