More New To Me Library Blogs

June 1st, 2006

I was going to wait until Monday to post these, but I finished up early tonight with new baby preperation, aggie reading, book research, and work stuff. So, here we go:

+ OPL Plus (not just for OPLs anymore) - “A blog for librarians in all smaller libraries, not just for one-person or solo librarians–all kinds of libraries, anywhere in the world. Management information, links, and marketing tips that you can use right now.”

+ MPLIC Tech Train - “Get on the Tech Train! This weblog will provide staff with an avenue to gain and share information related to technology and library computers. This will help us satisfy the customer’s need to know.”

+ News from the PRI Library and Data Archive - They are also syndicating blog content on the library site. Yay! (via DIY Librarian)

+ Reference A Newman Library

+ Library Assessment - “libraryassessment.info is a blog for and by librarians interested in academic library service assessment, evaluation and improvement” (via Newman Reference)

+ Wellington City Libraries - “WCL has over 600,000 books, 450,000 magazines, and 85,000 cds, DVDs, videos and other items at our central library, 11 branches and mobile library. We are located in New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington.”

+ Madison Library news and links - “What’s new at the library; local and regional links; library, reading, and tech news.” - They are also using Library Thing to create a list of their new books (which means they have an automatic RSS feed for new books and reviews) Any other libraries using LT?

+ PeoriaAZLibraryAdministration - brand spanking new!

+ Ramblings on Librarianship, Technology, and Academia - “the intersection of libraries and new technology, reviewing, reference, open access, and digitization. I also talk about many of my other interests where they intersect with librarianship, such as accessibility (go on, ask me how I use a computer!), and my academic work in children’s literature and fan studies.”

These “new to me” posts have become very popular. I’ve received many e-mails thanking me for compiling these blogs. I really like doing it and will try to make it regular feature. So, keep sending in your blogs (stevenmcohen at gmail.com)
