Hennepin County Library Offers Patron Comments on Catalog Entries

Michael Stephens, who has just finished a speaking tour in Minnesota, blogged today about some neat stuff that HCPL just released. Not only can users comment on any catalog entry, but they can get updated with any other comments via RSS. Wow!

This is amazing user focused technology. I’d love to see how many people use it (It might take time to catch on). There’s an easy way to find out. Provide an RSS feed for every comment posted. What an interesting case study this will be for social software in libraries.
