Reading Lists

April 9th, 2006

My latest column (April 2006) for Information Today Magazine is about Reading Lists. It’s the first in a two-part series, with this one being an introduction and the second one (comging May 2006) about how librarians can use Reading Lists in their daily work. There couldn’t be a piece about Reading Lists without saying hello to our dear friend OPML as well, so there’s a intro in the April column. The June 2006 column will be about why defaulting to Google is detrimental to librarianship.

I’m going to find a way to get these column reminders out to you quicker as well (Man, I wish ITI had feeds for this stuff). I have Wordpress installed on my server, so I might start using that. I also wish that my column was free for readers, but I have little to no control over that (I’ve complained, so we’ll see what happens). If you want to see my column for free, let ITI know by commenting on this post and telling them why you want it, and I’ll send over the link to them - consider it a petition).
