The library weblog dedicated to resources for keeping current and professional development

Lifehacker and Libraries

March 3rd, 2006

Lifehacker is on a roll with posts about libraries. The first post spawned many comments. The second, about Library Elf, is doing the same. Very intruiging…

From one commenter: - ““My library system (Wood County, OH) has this feature as a standard service. They got a pretty nice setup. Search through books at home and see their covers, see what books you have checked out, view holds and queue position, due dates, add books to a favorites list, and an email reminder service when books are due. They’ve also got an eLibrary that lets you check out ‘digital’ books via Adobe Reader. I use the system quite a bit.”

Neat. From another:

“This is great. Works like a charm. It is surprizing that my library’s own website handles this same information so poorly.”

Not Neat.
