Carnival!

February 22nd, 2006

Just a quick note that the Carnival of the Infosciences will stop here in two weeks (week of March 6th). Next week, it will be hosted by Data Obsessed. I love the carnival. It gives those librarian bloggers who may not be read as often as others their chance to shine. I’ve added many a carnival blogger to my aggregator.

I just wish those who have more clout in the library blogging community would host a Carnival. Many talk about the long tail but don’t do anything about making those blogs more public. I know that’s a generalization (some [not many] have actually moved beyond the comfortable 4 walls of their own sub-network) but it’s true. Jessamyn (who does a great job linking to new library blogs on her blogroll) wrote this last week:

“[A]ccept the power and the responsibility that comes with where you are, and use it for good.”

I’m going to sign up to do a carnival at least once a month, starting in March. Greg…got that?
