No Blogs…?
February 15th, 2006A few Web 2.0 sites that I want to add to my list but can’t because they don’t have a development/company blog:
+ newsgarbage - “Primarily, newsgarbage is a technology-based news site, moderated and controlled by you, the users. In this sense users can post news on the site, and then by ‘bagging’ or ‘binning’ specific news articles users have the power to change which news articles fellow users will see first and which articles go in the trash.” (Another Digg clone?)
+ Podbop - “Let’s look at it like this: Old way: Looking up concerts in your town on an event site, googling 100 different bands, tracking down an MP3 for each band, and then deciding which show you want to go to. The Podbop way: Type in a city, get MP3s, discover a band you like, and go see them.” (really slick tool - works with Eventful and Blogdigger [Yay Greg]). There’s kind of a blog (one of it’s founders), so I might add it if he talks about development (I’m nothing if not flexible
)
+ The Black Stripe - “[A] collaborative photo-sharing site based on real-life social networks. Basically it lets you upload photos and share them with your friends.”
I can understand why some libraries don’t have blogs (see, I have matured [well, some might disagree with that]), but for a Web 2.0 product not to have a blog (or at least an RSS feed of news and features) seems purely antithetical.
