Bookletters Hooks Up With Libraries

February 6th, 2006

I’ve never heard of Bookletters before. If you haven’t take a look at what they have to offer:

“BookLetters is an exciting service that enables your staff to reach out to patrons with high-quality e-newsletters and enhanced web services. Our Content Library puts information on thousands of authors and millions of books at your librarians’ fingertips, saving time. Your librarian controls the look, feel, and message of the web pages and e-newsletters that are automatically created by BookLetters’ computers. Your staff doesn’t even have to know html to take the next step in e-library service.”

One library that has teamed up with Bookletters is the Akron-Summit County Public Library. Here’s what I love about the service. If I wanted to look up an author, say Joyce Carol Oates, I can read a bit about her, select a book, read a bit about the book and check the catalog directly from that page. Very cool.

Add patron reviews to this service and I’d be thrilled.
