SLA Information Technology Division Blog and Blogging Section
December 7th, 2005They’re not playing around with blogs at the Information Technology Division of SLA, starting a “blogging section” of the subdivision. The scope:
“Provides a forum for members to exchange information on the technologies and applications of blogs and RSS. Central to this section is the development of blogs by and for information professionals and their customers, including design, development, structure, delivery, and promotion. This section monitors and reports on emerging new technologies and offers education and training on their effective use, implementation and management.”
Very exciting and congrats to the IT division. Just one issue. Taking a look at the last sentence on the page, one reads:
“Blogging is the new “IT” girl in web technology. Come and meet her!
I’m just not understanding what that means. Anyway, take a look at the new Blogging Section of SLA-IT blog, which, surprisingly and oddly, is not linked from the Blogging section page. (link via Christina’s Library Rant)
