The library weblog dedicated to resources for keeping current and professional development

PeopleFeeds

December 7th, 2005

There’s a bunch of these “combining resources” tools available today (Suprglu, etc) and the concept is not really new (see Blogdigger Groups).

PeopleFeeds takes this concept a few steps further. Not only can you create your own mesh of feeds that you own, but you can locate others of interest based on the tags they use and place them on watchlists (or you can grab the feeds) for monitoring. I also love that PeopleFeeds combines the tags from all of the services that I use into one cloud.

Here’s what the next step should be, IMO. Like Flickr, I’d love to create groups and invite members to join. So, if a library has 6 bloggers on staff, I can have all of the blog posts/del.icio.us tags/flickr photos andf more from everyone in the library in one place. How lovely that would be.

Hooray for PeopleFeeds. A great start and a big thumbs-up for not using the word ‘beta’ on the page. Also, they score points by having a development blog (link via del.icio.us)
