More Blog Presentations
October 9th, 2005Marianne Lemmox Lenox over at Library Supporter took the reigns and is using a blog for an online course that she is giving…on blogs.
Titled I Am So Gonna Blog This (If I Only Could), it’s filled with screenshots (great idea!) and well thought out content.
This concept is still in its infancy and will only grow in popularity (fingers crossed) as blogs become more flexible. Rachel, over at NDLA For Beginners (which was made to accompany a presentation on blogs), writes:
“Blogs as presentation media are visually interesting, communicative, and allow session attendees to take away a synopsis of the presenter’s information without lugging around a half pound of paper slide printouts. Also, if the presenter continues to update the blog, the learning process can be extended far beyond the confines of conference time limits.”
I’ve mentioned on occasion that the reference question doesn’t end when the patron walks out the door. It concludes whenever the research has been completed and the project/paper handed in. The same goes for practical “How to do it” presentations. Blogs are perfect for continuous learning.
