You Too Can Be Fashionable

Today at PubSub, we released what I think is a really neat feature. Called Fashionable Blogs, it takes a list of fashion blogs collected by humans (in this case a fashion journalist with help from me) and, using PubStats, ranks them, with the most influential blog at the top.

So, why is a librarian so excited about fashion blogs? Well, consider the opportunities to do something similar for library blogs, book blogs, or subject specific areas of study. I’d love to see lists created by librarians in the fields of music, science, and literature. We are the collectors, keepers, and storers of information. Why not exercise that knowledge to upkeep lists of subject-specific blogs which will then display the most influencial blogs?

Of course, this not only works in academia, but in the corporate world as well. How about a PR blog list? Or a marketing blog list? A sports blog list? The possibilities are endless.
