More on Library Marketing

August 22nd, 2005

Jill Stover has more to say about the importance of library marketing:

“Libraries are not immune to marketing forces. Ideas about product life cycles and consumer product classifications don’t stop applying once you hit the library’s doors.”

Listen to her folks (read her blog!), she knows what she’s talking about. Oh, and Jill will be one of our speakers at Blog-U and will be talking on Marketing Library Weblogs. Here’s the description of the session:

“What good is a library Weblog if nobody reads it, especially its intended audience? While the literature on marketing library services is vast, library Weblog content needs a different style of marketing approach. In addition, with an accompanying RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed, more marketing and education may be necessary. Hear practical strategies and techniques for marketing the library Weblog and getting the most out of your RSS Feed.”
